Introduction

An applicant looking to migrate into Canada can apply using the Canada entry system or the PNP (provincial nomination program). Using the entry system, there are just two criteria for someone with a unique skill to apply. The first criteria are to find out if the applicant is suitable for the FSWP (Federal skill worker program), the FSWP is considered to be one of the main categories for the Express Entry system with addition to the federal skill trade program(FSTP) or the Canadian experience class (CEC). As an applicant under this program, you will need to have a minimum score of 67 points over a 100 based on criteria like age, skills, experience, etc. During this recent year program, the 67 points will remain the same. After crossing g over from the FSWP, and you are being considered in the Express entry, then your qualifications will have to be better than the other people that applied for it to receive an “invitation to apply.”

Minimum CRS score requirements

Every fortnight, the immigration refugees and citizenship of Canada would pick the number of people who met the cut off mark required. Below you will see the CRS score for IRCC from the last draw in the Express entry system. In the last Express Entry draws, the CRS score kept meeting the 440 cut off mark. If you recall, the score is based on the points from your age, language, skills, education, etc. With the high immigration entry into Canada ranging from 3,30,000 and 81,400, you will notice that there is a slight reduction made by the IRCC. However, it is still very difficult to predict anything from the Express Entry draws. A safe score can only be issued when it is too close to the last cut off score, and that too is unpredictable.

IELTS points for Canada immigration

Your IELTS score is determined by the type of Immigration program you used to apply for immigration. Take, for example, applying for permanent residency using the Express Entry (EE); then your minimum score would be a CLB7 (Canadian language benchmark). But if you applied using the PNP program, then your IELTS score will be determined by the province you applied for.  Some province have a different score, for instance, regions like Ontario, Saskatchewan have a minimum score of CLB 4

How are the CRS point score calculated?

Generally, Canada gives out points based on 4 criteria, and out of those four, the other 3 criteria add up to 600 points. I.e. Capital + spouse + transfer ability = 600 points. The fourth factor is considered to be for additional points, which will make it a total of 1200 points. The points will later be passed on to the EE candidates in the CRS tool.

  • Capital factor (age, skill, language, etc.)
  • Spouse (language, skill, etc.)
  • Transferability (language, experience, etc.)
  • Additional points (family member residing in the country, additional language, I.e., French, employment, nomination, etc.
